Finding the right volunteers to best serve your clients and achieve your mission can be a challenge, but it doesn’t have to be.
Learn the right techniques when you attend "All Aboard! Attracting and Retaining Volunteers," one of 20 workshops planned for Princeton Community Works, the annual networking forum, which will be taking place Monday, Jan. 24, from 5 to 9:15 p.m. at Princeton University’s Frist Center. Led by nonprofit leaders and industry experts, workshops are designed to help participants gain a better understanding of key interpersonal and management skills and "best" practices.
More than 400 professionals and volunteers participate in Princeton Community Works, which has a longstanding track record of empowering individuals and nonprofits through networking, workshops and training. According to founder Marge Smith, "Community Works is a conference designed to enable boards, staff and volunteers in the nonprofit community to work together more effectively by networking, developing skills and raising community awareness."
The conference will feature Dr. Anthony D.J. Branker as keynote speaker. Dr. Branker holds the endowed chair of the Anthony H.P Lee ’79 Senior Lecturer in Jazz Studies and is director of the Program in Jazz Studies at Princeton University, where he has taught for the past 22 years. He has served as a U.S. Fulbright Scholar and visiting professor at the Estonian Academy of Music in Tallinn, Estonia, and has been a member of the faculty at the Manhattan School of Music, Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts, and Hunter College of the City University of New York.
Online registration is live. Workshops fill up quickly. The $29 per-person fee includes box supper, refreshments, enrollment in two workshops and workshop materials.
