Two township men are charged with sexually assaulting two 12-year-old girls after picking them up from the Regal Cinema movie complex on Route 1 in North Brunswick Jan. 2, according to police.
Timothy E. Hunt, 42, and Casey Callahan, 26, who both live in separate apartments at the Brookdale Mobile Home Park on Route 1 in Monmouth Junction are each charged with aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, according to a joint press release from South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka and Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce Kaplan.
Mr. Callahan also faces an additional count of sexual assault in the case, according to police.
According to the Jan. 14 release, the men knew the victims and met them at the movie complex Jan. 2 and then drove them to Mr. Callahan’s apartment where they allegedly had sex.
The men then drove the girls to a street near their homes and dropped them off, according to police.
School officials later became aware of the incident and reported it to police.
After an investigation by South Brunswick Detective Jeffrey Russo and Middlesex County Prosecutors investigators Joseph Celentano and Daniel Ruschak, police arrested Mr. Hunt Jan. 13 and Mr. Callahan Friday, according to police.
The men were lodged in the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick awaiting bail to be set, according to police.
