The new Chesterfield Elementary Township School dedication and ribbon cutting will be held at 10 a.m., Jan. y 22 in the Cafetorium of the new school at 30 Saddle Way in the new Village in Chesterfield Township. All community residents are invited to attend the program followed by a tour of the building. The new 115,776-square-foot school opened with 552 preschool through 6th-grade students on Jan. 5. Highlights of the new school include a new gymnasium and cafetorium, geothermal heating and air conditioning, solar panels, and 54 classrooms with state of the art technology. The Chesterfield Township Historical Society Annual Membership meeting will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 30 at the Chesterfield Baptist Church, Mathews Lane, Chesterfield. The guest speaker will be Burlington County Historian, Joe Laufer, who will make a presentation titled, "Local Whimsy and Trivia: Unusual Persons, Places and Events in Burlington County History." Archivist Alex Magoun will talk about the work he has been doing for the Historical Society during the past year, including making an inventory record of all the society’s holdings in the Ward Avenue museum, and beginning to preserve and digitize the society’s archival photographs, documents and maps. The Crosswicks Friends Meeting Crafts Night will be held every Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at the First Day School, on the grounds of the Meeting House in Crosswicks. This free event is an opportunity to come together to share conversation and fellowship while working on one’s own projects (i.e. sewing, quilting, spinning, scrapbooking, etc.). The T-shirts are available at the First Day School for $15. The T-shirts are a black with a drawing of the Meetinghouse on the front.
