Locals aid Peddie at Winterfest

Twenty-five swimmers from Peddie Aquatics Association qualified and competed with 31 area teams in Scarlet Aquatic Club’s "Tyr" Winterfest Short Course Invitational on January 8-9 at Rutgers University. Peddie swimmers took 31 top eight finishes at the meet.
Competing in open events, Hightstown’s Scott Vitabile, 15, finished third in the 500 free (5:05.29) and eighth in the 200 fly (2:07.75). West Windsor’s Roman Horoszewski, age 13, placed fourth in the 1650 free (17:54.31) and fifth in the 1000 free (10:50.77). John Bond of Cranbury, 16, swam to a seventh place finish in the 1650 free (18:25.49).
Representing Peddie in 13-14 age group events, MJ Cummings of Millstone finished third in the 200 free (1:55.48), fourth in the 50 free (23.73), and seventh in both the 500 free (5:24.51) and the 200 IM (2:15.22). Jillian Raplee of Freehold placed seventh in the 500 free (5:38.61). West Windsor’s Rabia Syed took third in the 500 free (5:25.87) and East Windsor’s Aldair Rozo swam to an eighth place finish in the 100 fly (1:02.41).
In the 11-12 age group, Alexander Petruso of Cranbury finished third in the 50 back (31.00), fifth in the 50 free (26.76), and sixth in the 200 back (2:26.74). East Windsor’s Sara Kalajdzic raced to a fifth place finish in both the 100 breast (1:15.68) and 200 breast (2:41.82), as well as eighth in the 100 IM (1:10.70). RJ Dreyfuss of Monroe placed seventh in the 100 fly (1:07.74) and eighth in the 200 fly (2:38.24).
In the 10-and-under age group, Michael Blank of East Windsor finished fifth in the 100 back (1:18.03), sixth in both the 50 breast (40.28) and 100 breast (1:27.61), seventh in the 50 back (35.66), and eighth in the 100 free (1:06.44). Allie McDaid of East Windsor raced to a fifth place finish in the 50 breast (40.12) and an 8th place finish in the 100 breast (1:28.62).
