LIBRARY HAPPENINGS: Week of Jan. 20

   January display: Exhibit of artists to benefit Friends of Somerset Regional Animal Shelter is being featured this month in the display case.

   Books for sale: The library is selling hardcover books for 50 cents, soft-cover for 25 cents or by the bag for $2.

   Chess Club: The club meets every Saturday at 10 a.m. All ages are welcome.

   Movie Night: Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 5:45 p.m. “Night and Day” starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. It is free. Light refreshments will be served.

   Hungry Readers Book Club: The club meets the second Monday of each month from noon to 1 p.m. All are welcome. Call Beverly Ball at 908- -722-3057.

   Storytime: The library is accepting registration for storytime through Jan. 21 and is required.
   To enroll, child must be 3½ by Aug. 1. The program is for all children 3½ to 5 years old. The program meets Wednesdays from 1 to 2 p.m.
   The children will be listening to stories, singing songs, making crafts, meeting friends and being exposed to the library.
   The session begins Jan. 26.

   Tax help for seniors: AARP volunteers will be available to prepare senior citizens income taxes for free at the Manville Public Library starting in February.
   The library only provides the community room.
   The following dates are available: Feb. 17, 24, March 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 and April 7 and 14. The hours are between noon and 5 p.m. You must call tax help for seniors for an appointment and information at 908-541-5710.
