As of Jan 1, Hopewell Borough public health and animal control services are being provided by the Montgomery Township Health Department, rather than the Hopewell Township Department of Health, under a new shared services agreement.
To help introduce the Montgomery staff and their services to the Hopewell Borough community, a listening session has been scheduled for Jan. 29 at the Hopewell Railroad Station from 10-11:30 a.m. Residents will get a cup of coffee and meet their new health and animal control officials.
"The first step to a healthy community is getting to know the people and their concerns. We are here to listen and to create a health program that is responsive to our communities’ needs," said Montgomery Health Officer Stephanie Carey.
At the Jan. 29 introductory session, residents and businesses owners will have an opportunity to:
– Meet the Montgomery health staff (the people who will work to make sure the town is "a healthy place to live and do business");
– Discuss issues or concerns, ask questions and interact with health professionals;
– Learn about public health services (the "10 Essential Health Services" – what they are and what they mean to the community);
– Join Montgomery’s Community Public Health Partnership.
Questions and comments will be welcome. Residents or business owners unable to attend the listening session may send questions and comments to: [email protected].
