The Cards dropped a 61-44 decision to Hunterdon Central Saturday, despite 14 points by Tate, 11 from Brackett, seven by Russell Austin and six from Bert McCallum.
Lawrence fell to Hightstown, 49-44, on Tuesday despite 16 points from Brackett, 11 from McCallum and 10 from Tate. GIRLS BASKETBALL
The Cards climbed over the .500 mark with a 42-34 win over Allentown last Friday, as Jasmine Bowen (14 points), Daphne Ginn (13) and Lynne Hurley (11) all scored in double figures.
Bowen had 10 points and 10 rebounds in a 49-27 win over Hightstown Tuesday, while Hurley had 12 and Ginn 11. WRESTLING
Tommy O’Rourke (160 pounds), Gavin Schenek (103), Thomas Yeager (130), Michael Jennings (135) and Justin Scott (152) all pinned in Lawrence’s 46-30 win over Nottingham Saturday.
In a 41-35 loss to Trenton Saturday, Schenek, Joey Stevens (125), Jennings (130), Scott and O’Rourke had pins, while Gordon Wolf (112) won by technical fall. BOYS SWIMMING
The Cardinals defeated Ewing, 124-43 and, coupled with Hopewell’s loss to Robbinsville, clinched the Colonial Valley Conference’s Patriot Division title last Thursday.
Mike Mus was a triple winner in the 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle and 200 free relay, while Dominic Wirkjowski won three times in the 100 back, 200 medley relay and 400 free relay. Also scoring a hat trick with three wins were Peter Finnerty (50 freestyle, 200 medley relay, 400 free relay), Sam Sciarra (100 free, 200 medley relay, 200 free relay) and Ed Zeng (200 IM, 200 medley relay, 200 free relay).
Also winning were Pat Lavery (200 free relay), Lou DiTommaso (400 free relay) and Tim Kelly (400 free relay). Second-place finishers included Lavery (100 back), Kelly (200 free, 500 free), DiTommaso (50 free, 100 free), Wirkjowski (100 fly) and Darius Teng (100 breast), while finishing third were Alec Rudenstein (200 free), Teng (200 IM), Mason Russo (100 fly), Lavery (500 free) and Landon Penn (100 breast).

Lawrence took a 123-46 win over Ewing last Thursday behind four-time winners Caitlin Lavery (200 medley relay, 200 IM, 100 breast, 400 free relay), Kate O’Rourke (200 MR, 50 free, 100 back, 400 FR) and Allie Drury (200 free, 100 free, 200 free relay, 400 FR). Double-winners were Andrea Tunnard (100 fly, 200 MR), Bridget Smith (500 free, 200 FR) and Hillary Hargraves-Dix and Lindsey Frietag (both 200 MR, 200 FR).
Second-place finishers were Smith (200 free), Frietag (200 IM, 100 free), Andrea Tunnard (500 free), Hargraves-Dix (50 free), Katie Pearce (100 back), Catherine Marencik (100 breast) and Anna Sternberg (100 fly), while finishing third were Melanie Webber (50 free), Nickki Tunnard (100 fly), Pearce (100 free).

Corey Crafford had a goal and an assist, while Max Zeidel added a goal and Pat Kelly had an assist in Lawrence’s 3-2 loss to Steinert Monday. Goalie Alex Finan made 34 saves in goal.
