Since November 1990, the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program has been implemented in all fifth-grade classes, both public and parochial, in the Manville school system.
The final phase of this program involves a culmination, which takes place in a school assembly setting.
Graduations are scheduled to be held at Roosevelt School on Friday, Feb. 4, at 1 p.m. and at Christ the King School on Tuesday, Feb. 8, at 1 p.m.
The winning DARE essays from each class will be read by their authors. Awards for the winning essays and poster contest will be distributed.
Each student who successfully completed the DARE curriculum will receive a certificate of achievement signed by representatives of law enforcement and education agencies.
As this is an important phase of the DARE program, join Chief Mark Peltack along with various other area dignitaries who will be in attendance for this event.
