"Everyone can be great." "Love is the key to the problems of the world."
These quotes from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and many others were shared with the children at Lawrenceville Elementary School (LES) at their Awesome Assembly on Friday morning.
Spearheaded by Eva Bostick-Fuller, Lawrence Teacher of the Year for 2010 and Academic Support Instructor at LES, children viewed the book "Martin’s Big Words, The Life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr." by Doreen Rappaport.
While Ms. Bostick-Fuller read the book with its pictures projected on the giant screen, third-graders stood on the stage to read the special quotes contained in the story with their schoolmates.
The auditorium was silent for the final quote in the book from Dr. King’s famous, "I Have a Dream" speech:
"I have a dream that one day in Alabama little black boys and black girls will join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers."
