The New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium (NJSGC) has launched a statewide search for qualified graduate students to apply for the Dean John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship for 2012.
Students with an interest in marine, ocean, and/or Great Lakes resources and the national policy decisions that affect them are encouraged to apply.
The program matches graduate students with host agencies in Washington, D.C., within the legislative or executive branches of the federal government or within other appropriate associations.
Fellows receive $49,000 to cover salary, living expenses, travel funds, moving costs and health insurance. Students in a graduate or professional degree program in a marine-related field at an accredited institution of higher education can apply through the NJSGC; applications must be submitted by Feb. 18.
The final selection is made by the National Sea Grant Office, which reviews applications submitted by sea grant directors from each state.
