ROBBINSVILLE: Education Foundation plans Casino Night

ROBBINSVILLE — The Robbinsville Education Foundation is rolling the dice and switching the format of its eighth annual benefit to a Casino Night gala in which residents play for prizes in an event that will raise funds to support school programs.
Casino Night, which also will honor longtime Robbinsville Soccer Association President Jim O’Donnell, will be held at 6 p.m. March 18 at John Henry’s Stone Terrace in Hamilton. Tickets cost $75 and include the first round of chips for the casino games, which will be run by Tumbling Dice, a state-licensed company that provides gaming tables, dealers and pit bosses to recreate the feel of a real casino.
Chips “won” at the tables can be redeemed for coupons that will be used to bid on a variety of prizes, including an iPad, Broadway show tickets and a Cranbury Golf Course package foursome.
The event kicks off 6 p.m. with an hors d’oeuvres reception sponsored by AfterOurs Urgent Care of Robbinsville. The recognition of the honoree will follow, along with a buffet dinner and the casino games. The evening will include a “Texas Hold ‘Em” poker tournament sponsored by Mayor Dave Fried.
The Robbinsville Education Foundation supports projects that enhance the educational experience in the Robbinsville Public Schools. The foundation recently awarded $7,000 in grants for classroom programs that paid for special books, materials, speakers or technology that otherwise would not be covered by the school budget.
The REF also has contributed to major school district projects, such as the stadium lights at Robbinsville High School.
