SERV names Director of Finance
EWING, NJ — Caren C. Jesseman, CPA, MBA, recently was named Director of Finance for SERV Behavioral Health System, Inc., a statewide, nonprofit organization serving adults and youth with severe mental illnesses and/or developmental disabilities. She works directly with James Rose, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance.
A resident of Ewing, Jesseman has extensive experience with nonprofit organizations. Prior to this new position, she was a manager for Withum Smith + Brown of Princeton, a large regional public accounting firm based in New Jersey, where she specialized in accounting services for nonprofit agencies, small and midsized businesses, and individuals.
“Now I am on the other side of the desk,” says Jesseman of her first time working for a nonprofit. “I am enjoying the chance to be able to contribute to a particular mission and objective of an organization,” she says, “… and how we can use our resources most effectively to provide the most services to our consumers. I am excited about that.”
Jesseman, who grew up in Lawrenceville, is a licensed CPA with a master’s degree in business administration from Rider University and a bachelor’s degree in business-financial management from the University of Delaware.
Her professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, N.J. Society of Certified Public Accountants, Mercer County Regional Chamber of Commerce and Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce.
She also is treasurer for the Ewing Girls Softball Association and a member of the Lore Parent Association, for which she prepares tax returns.
