The Princeton Festival opened the New Year with new officers. At its annual meeting the Board elected David Brown as Chairman, Marcia Atcheson, Vice Chair, Debbie Modzelewski, Secretary, and Costa Papastephanou, Treasurer.
The Board feted outgoing chair Laney Kulsrud, who has headed the board since the festival’s inception in 2004. Working closely with artistic director Richard Tang Yuk, Laney Kulrud oversaw the festival’s growth in scope and reputation over six summer seasons. The Festival peaked last June with 20 different performances ranging from opera to musical comedy, chamber music, choral workshop and concert, organ recital, and jazz, and celebrating its third year, a piano competition for young musicians. "It was our vision from the beginning to bring New Jersey a true summertime festival, a festival of wonderful performances of all different kinds of performing arts for people to enjoy, and we’ve been able to do that, starting from scratch," Ms. Kulsrud said. Accepting the Board’s thanks for all her work, she returned the thanks and remarked, "I think I may write a book."
