Plans are under way for The American Red Cross of Central New Jersey’s annual gala, "Speakeasy With The Red Cross," to be held on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 6:30 p,m, at Greenacres Country Club in Lawrenceville.
This year’s Gala Committee, led by co-chairs Elizabeth Baughan and Patricia Lamb, is preparing an evening of dining, dancing and fun in the Prohibition atmosphere of a speakeasy establishment, which came into prominence in the United States throughout the 1920s.
Guests will be encouraged to don attire of the Roaring Twenties and dance until midnight. A highlight of the evening will be the silent auction of a wide range of items, ranging from luxury vacation homes, pampered gifts, dinner for two, sports tickets to much more. The gala committee is currently soliciting auction items for the event.
Proceeds from "Speakeasy With The Red Cross" will benefit Red Cross programs and services, including disaster response for families affected by house fires and other local disasters, meals delivered to the elderly and homebound, and emergency preparedness education.
For more information about the gala or to donate an auction item, call Jennifer Durant at 609-951-2119 or write to [email protected]. For more information about The American Red Cross of Central New Jersey, please visit www.njredcross.org.
