Since November 1990 the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program has been part of all fifth-grade classes, both public and parochial, in Manville. The final phase of the program is a culmination of the students’ work, which takes place in a school assembly.
Graduations are to be held at the Roosevelt School at 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 4, and at Christ The King Scool at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8. The winners of the DARE essay and poster contest will be announced. In addition, each student who successfully completed the DARE curriculum will receive a certificate of achievement signed by representatives of the law enforcement and education agencies.
Manville Police Chief Mark Peltack and other local dignitaries will be on hand for the graduations.
