EAST BRUNSWICK — The township’s police force will lose two of its veteran supervisors on Jan. 31.
Capt. Tom Crothers will retire after 27 years on the police force, and Sgt. Paul Natalicchio will retire after 25 years.
Crothers started with the police department in 1984. He served in both the Patrol Section and the tactical area of the Special Operations Unit until 1993, when he was assigned as a detective in the Investigative Division. In 1998 he was promoted to the rank of sergeant, serving both in the Patrol Section and Investigative Division. In 2002 he was promoted to lieutenant TomCrothers and served as a watch commander in the Patrol Section until 2005, when he took over the responsibilities of the Traffic Section. In 2009 he was promoted to the rank of captain, serving as the head of the Operations Division, which oversees both the Patrol and Traffic sections.
Paul Natalicchio Natalic- chio started with the police department in 1986 as a patrolman. In 1991 he was transferred to the Investigative Division and became a narcotics detective. In 1993 he returned to the Patrol Section and served there until 2000, when he became a detective in the Investigative Division. He remained in that division until he was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2008. He was transferred to the Office of Professional Standards, where he assumed many duties, including public information, internal affairs and special projects.
