On Saturday, Robby Wiley collected 12 points and eight rebounds while Patrick Higgins had 10 points and three assists the HoVal U11 travel team’s 37-27 win over West Windsor. Rounding out the effort, which was highlighted by an offensive surge to begin the second half, were Cole Hare (5 points/6 steals), Max "Windex" Brass (4 points/4 rebounds), Jack Demareski (2P), Alex Mummert (2P, 4 assists), and Connor Murphy (2P/4ST). On defense, Hopewell got strong second-half play by Max DeLosSantos, Andy Blake and Dominic Zangrilli.
On Sunday, Hopewell (8-6) took a 43-8 victory over Robbinsville. Leading the way were Zangrilli (7P/3ST), DeLosSantos (7P/3A), and Hare (7P/3ST). Adding to the win were Mummert (6P, 3ST), Higgins (4P/3A), Murphy (4P) and Demareski (4P/2A). Stepping up in the frontcourt were Brass (2P/7R) and Blake (2P/7R).
The 7th-grade Hurricanes girls team rolled to a 27-17 win over the Robbinsville Storm, as the defense had 24 steals and eight blocks. The offense was led by Julia Tobia (7 points/4 rebounds), Sol Ash Garcia (6P/3R), Cayleigh Keenan (5P/6 steals) and Elsa Mahle (3P). Also contributing were Hannah Zoll (2P/5R), Victoria Lintott (3R) and Devon Nini (2P/6R). Stephanie Brix (2P/1STl) and Caelin Murphy (2R/1ST).
The ‘Canes fell to Pennsbury, 22-15, last week despite strong efforts from Tobia (7P/5ST/6R), Lintott (4P/3ST/5R) and Zoll (2P/7R).
The U12 Hawks fell to Delaware Valley, 41-10, despite 10 points and seven rebounds from Andrew Mormile and six each from Jack Amaral (13 rebounds) and Chase Fleming. Joey Kolano added four points.
