Officers responded to the Target parking lot Feb. 2 at 11:30 a.m. for a report of a theft from a taxi.
The taxi driver reported that a passenger in her cab had reached into her purse, which was located on the floor between the front seats, and removed a wallet containing $3,000 in cash.
The suspect, Michael Heuston, 33, of Edison Drive, left the cab and was located by officers in the Target parking lot. After the victim positively identified the suspect, he was arrested by detectives.
The suspect agreed to return the money and took detectives to a pile of snow in the area and recovered the stolen money, which was returned to the victim, police said.
The suspect was also found to be in possession of a personal check from another individual, who confirmed it had been lost or stolen.
The suspect was released on $1,000 bail. ***
Feb. 4 between 7 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., a woman reported that someone had slashed her vehicle’s tires while it was parked in the parking lot of SuperFresh.
Both driver’s side tires were slashed with a sharp object. The damage was estimated at $1,000. ***
Officers responded to a Kensington Arms apartment for a report of a disturbance on Feb. 5 at 4:44 a.m.
Officers attempted to speak with a male, Gregory Larson, 33, of Kensington Arms, who appeared intoxicated and became aggressive toward officers, police said.
The suspect threatened to "punch a cop in the face" and "head-butt any cop that comes near me."
The suspect then clenched his fists and moved toward the officer, police said. He was arrested and continued to resist arrest, police said.
He was released without bail after being charged with obstructing the administration of law and resisting arrest. ***
Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated male in a vehicle leaving the Windsor Wines and Liquors parking lot on Feb. 5 at 3:23 p.m.
The officers observed the described vehicle, a 1995 Nissan, in the lot with employees standing next to the vehicle. The employees said the male, Al Srinivasan, 54, of Lawrence, was too intoxicated to allow him to drive, police said.
Mr. Srinivasan was charged with drunken driving and careless driving and released without bail. ***
Officers responded to a Princeton Arms East apartment for a noise complaint on Feb. 6 at 2:17 a.m.
As they approached the apartment, they smelled burnt marijuana coming from the open windows of the apartment and heard loud music and noise, police said.
Officers discovered juveniles visiting the apartment and a large number of open liquor bottles throughout the apartment, police said. A male juvenile was observed concealing an item inside a pizza box, which was found to be a bag containing cocaine, marijuana and ecstasy.
The juvenile, 17, of Winsor Castle Apartments, was placed under arrest, but resisted arrest and fought with officers, police said. The juvenile attempted to kick officers and spat at them, police said.
He was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute; possession of marijuana; possession of ecstasy; under the influence of narcotics; aggravated assault on police officer; resisting arrest; and obstructing administration of law.
A second juvenile male, also 17 and from Orchard, was found to be intoxicated and also was arrested and charged with underage alcohol consumption.
The two adult residents of the apartment – Ixchel Cordoba, 24, of Princeton Arms East, who also was charged with a noise violation, and Cesar Choco, 22, of Princeton Arms East – were charged with providing alcohol to minors.
The juveniles were released to family members. The adults were charged and released without bail. ***
Officers responded to the parking lot of Crock-A-Deli for a report of a male passed out at the wheel of his vehicle on Feb. 6 at 2:47 p.m.
Store personnel reported the suspect, David Fedor, 51, of Yardville, had fallen off his chair while inside the deli and was falling asleep inside the store. He then made his way out to his vehicle, started it and prepared to drive away at which time, store personnel intervened and shut off the vehicle and called police, police said.
Mr. Fedor was charged with drunken driving, reckless driving and having an uninsured vehicle and taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hamilton Hospital. ***
Officers responded to the rental office of the Twin Rivers Apartments on Abbington Drive for a report of a burglary to the office sometime between non Feb. 5 and 9 a.m. Monday.
The suspects gained entry by smashing a glass door and stole an unknown number of rent envelopes, which had been dropped through a mail slot in another door, police said.
It has not been determined the exact number of mail envelopes that had been stolen, police said. The incident is under investigation.
