Students of the New Egypt High School will be performing in “Grease”. The cast
of 45 talented students will be singing and dancing their way into the hearts of the
audience with this 1970’s classic.
The cast is lead by Anthony Jones who plays Danny Zuko and Kimberly
Simunovich who has the role of Sandy Dumbrowski. The infamous “Pink Ladies”
include Alison Martino as Rizzo, Elisa Tang as Frenchie, Sophia Birks as Jan, and Olivia
Merril as Marty. As for the “Burger Palace Boys”, Kyle Lammerding plays Kenickie, Joe
LoRicco plays Sonny, Dan Byrne plays Doddy and Nick Vadino plays Roger. Additional
cameo roles include Kaitlyn Probasco as Patty Simcox and Alex Grala as Eugene.
Familiar songs from the original Broadway production and noted film will be performed
by these outstanding actors and actresses.
The show begins at the Rydell High class of ‘59 reunion. It then quickly flashes
back to a school filled with rebellious, rambunctious students. In the midst of this
scene, Sandy Dumbrowski enters with the infamous Pink Ladies, as the new girl in
school. It turns out that she and the leader of the Burger Palace Boys gang, Danny Zuko,
have had a summer romance during the previous summer. While Sandy stresses to her
new classmates the emotional connection she and Danny shared, Danny stresses the
more passionate aspects of their relationship to his ‘too cool for school’ gang. As the
show goes on, the students at Rydell High have to deal with love, gang violence, and
friendship. In the end, Sandy and Danny resolve their differences and end up ‘together
forever’ alongside the Pink Ladies and the Burger Palace Boys.
