The Allentown Garden Club will host Bruce Crawford on Feb. 10 to discuss rain gardens.
Rain gardens are designed to intercept, treat and filtrate stormwater from rooftops or driveways before becoming runoff. These gardens provide a simple, cost-effective and low-maintenance way of improving the long-term health of local aquifers and watersheds. Crawford is the director of Rutgers Gardens and an adjunct professor at Rutgers University’s School of Environmental and Biological Sciences.
The meeting will start at 7 p.m. in the Allentown Methodist Church on Church Street. All are invited to attend. For further details, visit www.allentowngardenclub.org or call John and Susan Brandauer at 609-259-7640.
