MONROE – Local Author Day will be held 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Monroe Township Public Library at 4 Municipal Plaza.
Meet and greet local authors at the library. Authors will be selling and autographing copies of their books.
Coffee and tea will be served. Registration is not required.
The following authors are participating:
– Alec Aylat: "This One!"
The author’s journey as a radio drama associate for the BBC to being smuggled into Palestine under an alias and investigated by Israel’s Shin Bet as a spy.
– Gene M. Corrado: "Confessions of a Delirious DJ."
A memoir about how the author and a friend became DJs by accident and became a hit on their very first job. Insights into the wild stories from the events they worked at.
– Nathan Levy and Amy Burke with Emily Fisher: "Creativity Day-by-Day: Stimulating Activities for Kids & Adults."
Activities for the classroom, home, car or anywhere! Unique and creative tasks are designed to stretch the minds of children and adults alike.
– Bettie Linke: "That’s the Spirit: Writings and Short Stories."
Memoirs and happenings of the author’s life in central New Jersey, beginning in the 1930s. Stories recall nostalgia of small town living and showcase a variety of writing styles.
– Judith H. Sherman: "Say the Name: A Survivor’s Tale in Prose and Poetry."
Author’s memoir detailing her experiences as a 14 year old girl imprisoned in Ravensbruck Concentration Camp during World War II. The narrative is interspersed with poems.
– Shirley Russak Wachtel: "The Story of Blima: A Holocaust Survivor."
A novel for young adults, which recounts the early years of the author’s mother, Betty Weisstuch Russak. Written in both mother and daughter’s voices, the novel is a testimony to hope.
– Blair R. Williams: "Anglo-Indians: Vanishing Remnants of a Bygone Era."
A survey of Anglo-Indians in 21st century India, North America and the UK. Based on interviews seeking to answer the question, "Are Anglo-Indians merging into the mainstream of the country where they are now domiciled?"
