RESERVE NOW TO HEAR MUSLIM JUDGE DISCUSS ISLAM
Hopewell Twp. – Judge Hany Mawla, the first Arab-American appointed to the New Jersey Superior Court, will discuss Islam during "Judging in Good Faith," a public forum at Har Sinai Temple on Feb. 27 from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
Among the issues Mawla will discuss at the free event are the basic precepts of Islam, Islam’s approach to honoring parents and if his Islamic faith affects his judicial duties.
Har Sinai’s Rabbi Stuart Pollack will share the dais with Mawla during the discussion presented by the Temple’s Interfaith Family Outreach Committee. Since space is limited, reservations are requested by Feb. 20. Light refreshments will be served.
The son of Egyptian immigrants, Mawla was only 36 when he assumed his assignment to the Family Division in Hunterdon County in January 2010.
Har Sinai is located at 2421 Pennington Rd. at Denow Road West. Call (609) 730-8100 for information or to reserve.
