Lambertville and West Amwell
Lambertville City police reported:
— A Ferry Street resident was the reported victim of a strong-arm robbery on Jan. 29.
Officers Memolo and Gramlich went to the residence at 5:50 p.m. after receiving the report of an unknown male suspect, who had forcibly broken into the residence and assaulted the female resident. The suspect allegedly forced his way in when the victim answered a knock at her door. The suspect then reportedly ransacked the apartment, removing a small amount of jewelry before fleeing. The victim was treated for a concussion and contusions at a local hospital.
The suspect was described as a man, 20-30 years old, with medium complexion, black hair and dark eyes. He had a tattoo on the right side of his neck. He was described as wearing a black shirt; black acid-washed jeans and black/white sneakers.
The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by Detective Sgt. Jeff Jones and the Hunterdon County prosecutor’s office. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lambertville City Police Department at 609-397-3132.
— On Jan. 20, Officer Michael Gramlich stopped David Nieves, 30, of Trenton, on Route 29 (near the Laceworks Complex) for speeding. Mr. Nieves was found to have an active warrant out of Trenton court for $233. He was charged with speeding, and driving on a suspended license. He posted bail and was released.
— On Jan. 21, Officer Kenneth Housman went to a motor vehicle crash on Bridge Street. One of the drivers, Louis Marut, 45, of Hopewell Township, was found to have an active warrant out of Barnegat Light court for $128. He was charged with improper backing. He posted bail and was released.
— On Jan. 23, Officer Anthony Memolo was sent to the CVS Pharmacy to check out a counterfeit 20-dollar bill. Assistant Manager Ashley Allen discovered the bill while counting the money in the drawer.
— On Jan. 22, Officer Gramlich took Antonio Vasquez into custody at his residence on Brunswick Pike. Mr. Vasquez had a warrant out of the Hunterdon County Superior Court. He was transported to the Hunterdon County jail.
— On Jan. 20, Officer Michael Miloszar stopped Cesar Roldan, 50, of Trenton, on Bridge Street for speeding. Mr. Roldan was subsequently charged with DWI, refusal to submit to a breath test, reckless driving, speeding, failure to maintain lane, and no license in his possession. He was released.
— On Jan. 20, Sgt. Robert Brown went to North Main Street to investigate a disturbance. Matthew Kane, 40, of Lambertville, said Aaron Randolph, 40, also of Lambertville, wanted him to move his legally parked vehicle from in front of Mr. Randolph’s residence. Police said that when Mr. Kane refused, Mr. Randolph threatened to urinate on Mr. Kane’s vehicle. Mr. Randolph admitted to Sgt. Brown that he had urinated on the sidewalk next to Mr. Kane’s vehicle. Mr. Randolph was charged with disorderly conduct and disposing of waste materials.
— On Jan. 27, Sgt. Robert Brown stopped Andrew J. Smith, 23, of West Amwell, on Terrell Road for operating without his headlights on. Mr. Smith was subsequently charged with DWI, refusal to submit to a breath test, no headlights on, failure to maintain lamps and careless driving. He was released.
— On Jan. 29, Sgt. Jeffery Jones and Officer Miloszar were sent to Lambert Lane to investigate a fight. One of the subjects involved — Austin A. Roud, 32, of Lambertville — was found to have an active warrant out of Hopewell Township Municipal Court for $164. He posted bail and was released.
— On Jan. 30, Sgt. Brown stopped Catherine M. Izbicki, 23, of Toms River, on Mount Hope Street for disregard of a traffic signal. Ms. Izbicki was found to have an active warrant out of Union Township Municipal Court for $ 250. She was released by Union Township authorities. She was charged with obstructing an intersection, and driving with a suspended drivers license.
West Awwell Township police reported:
— On Jan. 19 at 7:45 a.m., police investigated a one-vehicle crash on Mill Road just south of Route 179. Harold Baty, 63, of Asbury, was rounding a curve when he lost control of his vehicle on the ice-covered surface, left the roadway and hit a tree. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed from the scene. No summonses were issued by investigating Patrolman Timothy Vanselous.
— On Jan. 23 at 12:54 p.m., police investigated a two-vehicle accident on Route 31 just north of the Linvale- Harbourton Road (Route 579) intersection. Steve Albright, 48, of Maple Shade, was stopped at a southbound red traffic signal when his vehicle was struck in the rear by one driven by Hamid Shamsi, 57, of Chester. No injuries were reported, The Shamsi vehicle was towed. He was issued a summons for careless driving by investigating Patrolman Edward Skillman.
