Robbinsville Police went to 1 North Commerce Square on Feb. 3 — the Sharbell Construction Site — on a report of an amputation.
Upon arrival, police found a 61-year-old man from East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, was bleeding and apparently had cut off two and half fingers while using a table saw.
Police got a rubber glove filled with snow to put the fingers in and wrapped the injured hand with a bandage.
The man was taken to Helene Fuld Trauma Center in Trenton, then transferred to Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. The victim underwent emergency surgery, however, the attempts to reattach the fingers were unsuccessful, police said.
It is not known if the victim worked for Sharbell Inc or if he was a subcontractor.
Patrolman William Swanhart responded to a construction site at 80 West Manor Way for a report of a burglary and theft.
Upon arrival, Officer Swanhart spoke with a representative from PKF-Mark Construction. He reported that between Dec. 13, 2010, and Feb. 4, 2011, an unknown person entered a construction container and removed several pieces of equipment.
It was reported that two saws, two generators and other miscellaneous equipment was taken. The value of the stolen items is estimated at $10,600.
The incident is under investigation. There are no suspects at this time.
Police went to Robbinsville-Allentown Road and West Manor Way on Jan. 31 on a report of burglary and theft.
Upon arrival, Patrolman Thomas Paglione met with a representative from HBC Company Inc. He reported that between Jan. 28 and Jan. 31, an unknown person cut off the lock to the construction site and entered a box truck.
The person removed one drill, one saw and other miscellaneous equipment with an estimated value of $3,000.
The incident is under investigation. There are no suspects at this time.
