PRINCETON: Schools set budget workshop on Feb. 17

The Board of Education for Princeton Regional Schools will host a public budget workshop for on Feb. 17 at 7 p.m.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the 2011-2012 budget. Among the suggestions being considered are ideas for energy savings and more shared services, said Judy Wilson, superintendent. “All ideas are on the table in terms of how to deliver an excellent education for all pupils on less revenue.”
Ms. Wilson confirmed the expected shortfall is still $2 million, but it could be more if state aide is decreased for 2011-2012.
The budget will be finalized by March 1, Ms. Wilson said. It is due in the county office by March 4 and a public hearing will be held on March 22.
The workshop will be open to the public and no action will be taken. The meeting will be held in the Valley Road administration building in the first-floor conference room.
