A local business to be affected by the construction of a Route 206 bypass would get a break if an ordinance revising a land development regulation is passed March 8.
The Township Committee has introduced an amendment that allow nurseries and garden centers in the HOO (Home Office Occupation) district as a conditional use. Public hearing and discussion will be at the March 8 Township Committee meeting. The amendment to the zoning regulations was made to accommodate a "unique situation" affecting Central Jersey Nurseries, owned by Vince Lipani, on Hamilton Road, said Mr. Ringelheim.
The nursery will have its buildings and much of its approximately 20 acres condemned and taken by the state for the right-of-way for the Route 206 bypass, the planner said. The amended regulation allows the nursery to avoid seeking a zoning variance and having to file a site plan, he said.
