Series on musicians to be held at Monroe Library

MONROE – The Artists in Residence series, "Meet the Musician," will be held at the Monroe Township Public Library at 4 Municipal Plaza.
The lives and works of composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig Van Beethoven will be highlighted with pianist Dennis Kobray.
Discover the tragic and colorful life of Mozart on Saturday, March 5, at 1 p.m.
This child prodigy, prolific composer and embodiment of the classical era was never fully appreciated in his own lifetime. The melodies of Mozart are revealed in excerpts of his symphonies, operas, piano concertos, chamber music and piano solos.
Saturday, May 21, at 1 p.m., learn how Beethoven’s revolutionary expression of emotions in his works broke away from the elegant and refined music of his predecessors. The story portrays Beethoven’s struggles with an unhappy childhood and the onset of deafness as well as his triumph over these obstacles.
This program is offered in collaboration with the Monroe Township Cultural Arts Commission. Registration is not required.
