Kirsten Schatz of Denver, Colo., daughter of Doris Barkhymer Schatz of Newtown, Pa., and Dr. Klaus W. Schatz of Cham, Switzerland, and Stephen M. Simon of Denver, Colo., son of Leslie and Dr. Michael Simon of East Meadow, N.Y., were married on Aug. 7, 2010.
The Reverend Jacqueline Decker Vanderpol and Rabbi Adam Morris co-officiated the interfaith ceremony, which took place at Della Terra Mountain Chateau, located outside Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park, Colo.
The bride and groom were each supported in marriage by their parents.
Jessica Schatz of Philadelphia, Pa., sister of the bride, was Best Woman. Elise Schatz of Irvine, Calif., the bride’s niece, was flower girl. Adam and Patrick Barkhymer of Annapolis, Md., the bride’s cousins, were ring bearers.
Scott Simon of Portland, Ore., brother of the groom, was Best Man.
Guests of honor included the groom’s maternal grandparents, Arthur and Rhoda Zeitlin.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Dr. Lyle and Meg Barkhymer, the bride’s uncle and aunt, who performed classical selections.
The bride is a 1999 graduate of West Windsor-Plainsboro High School and a 2003 graduate of Rice University. She is employed as alumni network coordinator for The Public Interest Network in Denver.
The groom is a 1996 graduate of East Meadow High School, N.Y., a 2000 graduate of Tulane University, a 2003 J.D. of Thomas Jefferson School of Law and 2008 L.L.M. of the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. He is an attorney for the National Park Service.
The couple honeymooned in Fiji before taking up residence in Denver.
