Best of Bach
Westminster Choir College organ faculty member Alan Morrison will perform J.S. Bach’s masterwork "Clavieruebung III" at 4 p.m. in Miller Chapel on the campus of Princeton Theological Seminary. Admission is free.
Sometimes referred to as the German Organ Mass, Bach’s "Clavieruebung III" is considered to be one of his most significant and extensive works for organ, containing some of his most musically complex and technically most demanding compositions for that instrument.
Alan Morrison is recognized as one of America’s leading concert organists. His concert appearances in some of the most prestigious organ concert venues in North America emphasize his achievements as a performer. In addition to serving on the Westminster faculty, Mr. Morrison is head of the Organ Department at The Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.

Double bill of distinction
It’s an unusual pairing to be sure, but when Swedish mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter, who sings everything from Mozart to the Beatles to ABBA, teams up with Grammy Award-winning jazz pianist Brad Mehldau at McCarter Theatre at 8 p.m., one can expect something magical.
Together these two artists, each distinguished in their genres, will present a program of classical music, popular music, and jazz as only they can. Grieg, Sibelius, Brahms, and Strauss highlight Von Otter’s special touch with lieder, and she also will showcase her talents with songs by Lennon/McCartney, Tom Waits, Michel Legrand and others.
McCarter Theatre has the distinction of being one of only a few venues worldwide that will present this unique double bill. Other dates include Carnegie Hall, and appearances in Berlin and Vienna.
Tickets for Anne Sofie von Otter and Brad Mehldau are $41 and $45 ($10 student standing room with valid ID), and are available by calling 609-258-2787 and online at www.mccarter.org,
