Baby-sitter training
Friday, Feb. 18 Baby-sitter training will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the American Red Cross, 14 W. Cliff St., Somerville.
Another session will be held Friday, March 19, at the same hours.
There will be training in child care, first aid and making smart decisions to stay safe in any baby-sitting situation.
Bring a lunch. The cost is $65 per person.

Conversation about schools
Monday, Feb. 21 Welcome the new Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Jorden Schiff, at 7 p.m. at the Auten Road Intermediate School in an event sponsored by the communications committee of the township Board of Education and the Community Partnership Network.
Meet Dr. Schiff and join informal discussions and break-out sessions related to academics, athletics, budget, capital improvements, extracurricular activities, grant opportunities, health and safety, parent involvement, public relations and technology.
The Community Partnership Network is part of school district’scommitment to improve communication and foster community involvement in the schools.

Classic folk music
Thursday, Feb. 24 Spook Handy will sing Peter, Paul and Mary songs, including “Puff the Magic Dragon,” “Leaving on a Jet Plane” and “Blowing in the Wind,” at the Hillsborough Library at 7 p.m. The show is free and no registration is required. High schoolers to stage ‘Phantom’
March 11-13, 18-19 Hillsborough High School Musical presents “The Phantom of the Opera” in the auditorium of the school, 466 Raider Blvd., at 7 p.m. on March 11, 12, 18, and 19, and 1 p.m. on March 13 and 19. Admission: $10. Tickets can be purchased at the door, by calling 908-431-6600, ext. 2099, or visiting the school box office on Feb. 12, 19, 26 from noon to 6 p.m.; Feb. 21-24 and 28 and March 1-3 and 7-10 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Alzheimer’s support group The Alzheimer’s Association has a newly formed support group in Hillsborough. Family members and caregivers come together to share information and support in a safe and confidential atmosphere.
Meetings are the second Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m. in the sunroom at Emeritus Senior Living, 600 Auten Road, Hillsborough. All are welcome. Call 431-1300 if attending.
