NEW HANOVER – Patrol Officers Kyle Tulino and Christopher Auriano were formally awarded their MADD Distinguished Service Awards by the New Hanover Township Committee on Feb. 8.
The awards cited the officers for their "outstanding service and contribution to serving the needs of the community in the lifesaving efforts of keeping out roads safe. . ."
The MADD awards were signed in December for the officers’ drunken driving arrest figures for 2009.
During the calendar year Patrolman Tuliano arrested 24 impaired drivers and Patrolman Auriano arrested 13. In 2010 the pair charged 37 drivers with driving under the influence that year as well.
