Bear Tavern Elementry School Art Show

By RiverStone Kitchen & Bath
Join us for “INSPIRED”, a week long celebration of colorful sculptures created from industrial wire and hosiery by the 5th grade Art Enrichment students at Bear Tavern Elementary School.  This fantastical display is based upon visiting Sculptor, Katie Truk’s, phenomenal work. Grand Opening is Friday, March 4th, 6:00- 8:00 pm, hosted by RiverStone Kitchen & Bath in Pennington.  Exhibition lasting for one week, these sculptures are not to be missed.
Ms. Truk joined the 5th grade Art Enrichment students at Bear Tavern Elementary School in Titusville for a workshop that was hands-on, energetic, and nothing less than “inspiring” for these young, budding artists. Ms. Truk discussed her journey as an artist, how she arrived at using industrial wire coupled with hosiery as her medium of choice, and the things that “inspire” her to produce such involved sculptures.
Ms. Truk demonstrated techniques to the students before allowing them to explore and create their own works of art. Bear Tavern students learned art appreciation first hand as they dove into their sculptures; Ms. Truk’s pieces are seamlessly put together yet are quite complex and difficult to mimic.
“Inspired” includes twenty-nine sculptures completed by Bear Tavern’s 5th grade artists and a sampling of Ms. Truk’s pieces that are for sale.
This educational workshop was partially funded by The Hopewell Valley Education Foundation under the direction of Ms. Truk and art teacher, Joslyn Johnson.
