Caitlin Hayes Buchanan and David Jeffrey Stratuik, both of Leesburg, Virginia, were married July 17, at the First Presbyterian Church in Lambertville.
The bride is the daughter of Winfield and Patricia Buchanan, of Lambertville. The groom is the son of David Stratuik, of Belleville, Ontario, Canada, and Julie Vanluven, of Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
The Rev. Dr. Peter Gregory officiated. The reception was held at Occasions in New Hope.
The matrons of honor were sisters of the bride, Heather Lynn McIntyre, of Easton, Pennsylvania, and Erin Ainslee Durburow, of Lambertville. Bridesmaids were sisters of the groom, Brittney Stratuik, of Belleville, Ontario, Canada, and Carrie Ruys, of Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The flower girls were Megan and Sarah McIntyre, nieces of the bride, of Easton.
The best man was Jason Stratuik, brother of the groom, of Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Ushers were Patrick J. Durborow, Nathan J. McIntyre, both brothers-in-law of the bride, of Lambertville and Easton, respectively, and James Buchanan, brother of the bride, of Bristol, Pennsylvania.
The bride graduated in 2003 from South Hunterdon Regional High School and in 2007 from The College of New Jersey with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She is completing her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with a focus on integrating technology into the classroom at George Mason University in Virginia where she teaches fourth grade at Catoctin Elementary School in Leesburg.
The groom graduated in 2001 from Loyalist Collegiate & Vocational Institute, in 2006 from The State University of New York at Potsdam with a master’s degree in the science of teaching and in 2007 from Carleton University with an honors degree in political science and a minor in sociology.
He is attending The George Washington University in Alexandria, Virginia, working toward a degree as an education specialist in leadership and administration in 2012.
He teaches third grade at Colvin Run Elementary in Vienna, Virginia.
