The Lawrence High School Athletic Hall of Fame is currently accepting nominations for the 2011 class, scheduled to be inducted in October.
Nominees may be former athletes, coaches, teams, or special contributors. Athletes must have graduated in 2006 or earlier in order to be eligible. Nomination forms can be filled out online by visiting www.ltps.org and following the links for High School; to Athletics; to Hall of Fame.

The Central Jersey Lashers Baseball seminar for parents, coaches, teachers and others will be held Sunday, Feb. 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Lawrence Middle School Auditorium in Lawrenceville.
Dr. Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller, RN, BSN of Lawrenceville will be giving one of their most popular seminars "Help Your Kids Manage Their Anger: A Practical Plan". Scott and Joanne are the co-founders of Effective Parenting and have written four books on many aspects of parenting They are nationally-know experts on the subject and speak almost every weekend somewhere around the country.
This seminar is designed for parents, teachers, coaches or anyone who has an interest in helping a young person learn how to effectively manage their anger or frustration. Adults and children ages 10-and-up are welcome to attend. Cost is $20 per family if paid in advance or $25 at the door. The Princeton Recreation Department is now accepting registration for Community Park Pool membership for the summer of 2011. Membership is available to Princeton residents as well as non-residents from other communities. ‘Early-Bird’ discounts prices are being offered through Apr. 15 for selected membership options. Registration should be submitted online via http://register.communitypass.net/princeton.
The Community Park Pool complex consists of three pools; 50-meter main pool, diving pool and ‘kiddie’ pool. Community Park Pool complex also includes a concession stand, men’s & women’s changing rooms, showers, and a kids playground.

On Sunday, May 8, the Lawrenceville School will host its eighth annual Big Red Race to benefit the School Camp (a residential summer camp for underprivileged youth that has been in operation for more than a century) and local non-profits fighting hunger.
The starting gun for the adult five-kilometer course will fire at 10:15 a.m., rain or shine. Races, ranging from 25 meters to a half mile, will be available for kids ages 3-11 starting at 9 a.m.
Participants are encouraged to pre-register by May 3 to receive a 2010 Big Red Race t-shirt. There is an $18 non-refundable entry fee for adults; $20 on race day. The non-refundable entry fee for runners ages 12-17 is $10; $15 on race day. All racers and spectators are encouraged to bring cans of non-perishable food for the School’s Big Red Race Food Drive, which will be given to community agencies fighting hunger in the Lawrence area. A food donation will also serve in lieu of a $5 entry fee for runners under age 12, each of whom will receive a finisher’s medal and a t-shirt.
Food bags will also be available on the premises for donation purchase. Tickets for the Big Red Raffle will also be on sale. A host of awards are up for grabs, including a special treat for the Lawrence Township family with the most participants in the Adult 5K and Kid’s Race.
