‘Drowsy Chaperone’
Westminster Choir College will present the hit musical-comedy "The Drowsy Chaperone" Friday through Sunday in the Princeton Regional Schools Performing Arts Center at Princeton High School.
Winner of five Tony Awards, "The Drowsy Chaperone" begins as a die-hard musical theater fan plays the cast album of the 1928 chestnut "The Drowsy Chaperone" in his dingy apartment. The show magically bursts into life onstage, and the audience is rocketed into the glamorous world of a celebrity bride on her hilarious wedding day.
The cast is composed of students at Rider University’s Westminster College of the Arts. Graduates of Westminster’s music theater program have gone on to successful careers on and off-Broadway. Director and music director Nathan Hurwitz has enjoyed a lengthy international career as a conductor, arranger and keyboard player.
Performances of "The Drowsy Chaperone" will be given Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. The Princeton Regional Schools Performing Arts Center at Princeton High School is located on Walnut Lane at Franklin Street in Princeton.
Admission is $20 for adults and $15 for students and seniors. To purchase tickets, call 609-921-2663 or log on to www.rider.edu/arts.
