CHAPTER A
Hillsborough Senior Citizens Chapter A meets the first Thursday of the month in the municipal complex. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., allowing you time to review the activities we have to offer. The meeting begins at 12:30 p.m. Dick Meier is president and you can call him at 359-6948 if you have a question. Coffee and doughnuts are served at the end of the meeting.
We are just back from our latest jaunt to Hunterdon Hills, which was a makeup due to a snowstorm cancellation. The production was “American Song Book, Book 2.” What a wonderful substitute it was!
The music was songs we knew and the talent was first class. What an array of beautiful costumes on those wonderful slim bodies, tiny waists and lovely long legs. I don’t think we’ve ever been disappointed with any production or their meals.
We also enjoyed Valentine’s day extravaganza. They sang the songs we knew, those songs that had lovely melodies and lyrics that were like little poems. You could actually remember them. Lots of dancing on the floor, where many couples held each other affectionately.
In contrast, there was a younger couple there, maybe in their 20s, dressed in sweats They did their modern version of dancing, stomping with a vacant stare. Their footwork was interesting, but were they squashing bugs or putting out cigarette butts?
If you haven’t paid your yearly dues, be advised the time to do so is almost up. Unpaid members will be dropped from our rolls and you will not be eligible for the parties and trips.

CHAPTER B
Chapter B members meet on the second Thursday of each month for their regular meetings. Our next meeting is scheduled for March 10. Our meeting place is the all-purpose room at the Municipal Building and the doors open at 11:30 a.m.
The meeting starts at 12:30 p.m. There are always trips and events available for purchase. Always bring your checkbook or a few checks and be ready when we start selling at 11:30 a.m. If you plan on purchasing a space for a trip, you must be present to purchase your own ticket.
Our guest speaker will be Detective Barry Bittenmaster from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, who will give a presentation regarding fraud as it pertains to seniors. Having read in the paper about some schemes against seniors lately, this should be a timely topic. A question period will follow.
Some changes have been recommended to our bylaws. These were discussed at our February meeting. Voting will take place in March.
For the past several years, our March meeting has always been our health fair. Chapter B is not holding a health fair this year but we have been invited to participate in Chapter A’s health fair at their April meeting. Ask for details at our March meeting.
