A Sunday night fire at an abandoned warehouse at 101 Old Camplain Road is considered suspicious, said Chief Fire Marshal Chris Weniger.
"We have a building with no electricity, no heat, vacant and abandoned for years," Mr. Weniger said. "There are some other indicators in the building (that show) the fire was set. It’s given us a lot of indication that it’s suspicious.
The building has been spray painted and vandalized by kids "almost on a daily basis" for "a number of months," he said.
The fire started at about 10:45 p.m. and took about a half-hour to extinguish. The crews were finished by 1 a.m., Mr. Weniger said.
Responding units included Hillsborough Township fire companies 1, 2 and 3; the Manville Fire Department; the Hillsborough Police Department; the Hillsborough Rescue Squad and the Hillsborough Fire Marshal’s Office.
