SCHOOL BOARDS: Nine seats available in election

By Mae Rhine, Managing Editor
Nine board of education seats are up for grabs in the Cranbury, Jamesburg and Monroe school districts in the April 27 election.
In Cranbury, the seats now held by Jennifer Cooke, Eveyln Spann and Kevin Fox are available.
All three incumbents have filed for re-election for the three three-year terms. They have no opposition yet, however, the deadline for filing nominating petitions isn’t until Tuesday, March 8, at 4 p.m.
In Jamesburg, three three-year terms are available. They are the seats now held by Donald Peterson, Salvatore Brucato, who is vice president this year, and Linda Newton.
So far, only Mr. Brucato filed for re-election. Ms. Newton has a petition out, but has not yet filed, according to Thomas Reynolds, business administrator and board secretary.
Mr. Reynolds also said Mr. Peterson has decided not to run for re-election.
In Monroe, the seats now held by Ken Chiarella, Kathy Kolupanowich and Kathy Leonard are available.
It was unknown at press time if anyone had filed for the three three-year terms.
