The Princeton Academy of Martial Arts (PAMA), located 14 Farber Road, West Windsor, will be celebrating its 24th anniversary on Saturday, March 12, from 1 to 3 p.m. Through the years, thousands of students have attended the school to work Sifu- Guru (master teacher) Rick Tucci, head instructor and director.
Adult students at PAMA range from age 18 to 64. PAMA has attracted people with a wide range of backgrounds — college students, surgeons, doctors, homemakers, lawyers, craftsmen, corporate executives, and law enforcement professionals, as well as the “accidental martial artist” who starts out as a fitness enthusiast and becomes hooked on a life- changing path.
Sifu-Guru Rick Tucci, teaching professionally since 1978 and certified in a variety of martial arts, founded PAMA in 1987. Since that time, PAMA has established itself as one of the top training academies in the United States. In its December 2010 issue, Blackbelt, “the World’s Leading Magazine of Martial Arts,” chose Mr. Tucci and PAMA for a spotlight article titled “New Jersey’s Finest.”
Sifu Rick has also been featured in numerous other publications, television shows including a spotlight on TLC (The Learning Channel), and video productions viewed nationally and internationally. He has been sought-after to teach seminars throughout the United States and Europe.
PAMA is a complete training center for the study of the martial arts. It offers a curriculum with a wide range of martial arts systems and provides long-range potential for developing both the physical and mental attributes associated with martial arts training, such as coordination, balance, agility, focus, confidence, power, stamina and weight loss. PAMA provides “gold standard” martial arts instruction and training in a friendly, positive atmosphere. Individuals from age 6, with or without previous martial arts experience, come to this location to learn to defend themselves, have a great workout, have fun, and ultimately grow as individuals.
The Open House on March 12 will offer free ongoing Adult and Children’s Martial Arts demonstrations from around the globe, including Jeet Kun Do, Indonesian Pentjak Silat, Muay Thai (Thai Boxing), Filipino Kali/ Eskrima, Boxe Francais Savate (France), and MMA.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet Rick Tucci and PAMA’s highly trained staff of instructors. Available will be a coupon for each new adult guest for a free private lesson; a coupon for each new child guest for a free trial class; drawings for prizes; refreshments, and a free Women’s Self-Defense Workshop at 3 p.m.
