WEST WINDSOR – The West Windsor Township Council held its first budget session on Monday night. The total budget for 2011 is $37,405,000 compared to $37,047,000 last year, said Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh in the budget cover letter.
The proposed budget and municipal tax levy in 2011 is within the state-mandated cap, said Mayor Hsueh.
He referenced the 24 percent population growth West Windsor experienced over the past decade and its implications for the work of the municipality.
"As I have stated publicly on a consistent basis, once again this has been an extremely difficult budget process given the current economic circumstances and numerous changes at the state level," said Mayor Hsueh. "The township of West Windsor is committed to providing the necessary resources to ensure that the residents of our community continue to receive essential services that they need and deserve."
The municipal budget will be adopted by April 22, 2011.
