Shocked that women’s team not covered

Herb Hobler, Montgomery
In the March 1 issue of The Packet, sports editor Bob Nuse devoted three columns to the Princeton men’s basketball team and its previous weekend wins. Not only wasn’t there a score for the women’s team — which is one game better than the men — but no mention whatsoever about their better standing in the women’s Ivy League.
As someone who played basketball at Princeton and even have seen a record 860 Princeton games, I was honored to have endowed the Women’s Basketball Award some 24 years ago.
As a player and as an alumnus I am shocked that The Packet would permit the fine article about the men’s team and not a word about the outstanding women’s record. With luck both of them could win the Ivy League title and go to the NCAA post-season together — the women for the second consecutive time.
