Dillon basketball crowns playoff champs

Elon Tuckman scored 14 points and Alex Wey added seven as the Clippers topped the Sonics, 32-28, in the championship game of the 4th-5th Grade Boys Division of the Princeton Recreation Dillon Youth Basketball League. Brooks Johnson led the Sonics with 12 points, while Andrew Elkadi added six in the loss. Also for the Clippers, Aidan Duffy had three points, while Lincoln Roth, Max Schoefield, Dan Hubert and Lancelot Herpin had two apiece. Other members of the Clippers roster were Jackson Henneberry and Noam Davidov.
In the semifinals, the Clippers topped the Thunder, 23-14, as Tuckman had 10 points, Davidov seven and Duffy added five. Mac Naggar led the Thunder with six points. Johnson scored 13 points to led the Sonics to a 17-12 win over the Warriors. Noah Lilienthal had eight points and Thomas Reid added four for the Warriors.
In the championship game of the 6th/7th Grade Boys Division, Sebastian Dowell led a balanced scoring attack with nine points as Rutgers topped Pittsburgh, 32-17. Peter Reid had seven points and Jacob Caddeau added six in the win. Dan Hanna had four points, while Trevor D’Amdrogio, Charlie Doran and Ben Royer added two apiece. Other team members were Matt Towers, Elliot Moreau and Nick Jain. Grant Hoeffner led Pittsburgh with seven points.
In the semifinals, Caddeau had 13 points to lead Rutgers to a 23-22 win over Villanova. Colin Taylor had 11 points for Villanova. Pittsburgh topped Seton Hall, 23-19, as Chris DeClement had eight points and Hoeffner added five. Aidan Shue led Seton Hall with six points.
In the championship game of the 8th/9th Grade Boys Division, Andrew Braverman scored 26 points and Joseph Hawes added 13 as Mayflower Cleaners topped Princeton Dental Group, 45-30. Kevin Quinn had four points and TJ Gibbons added two in the win. Other team members were Edward Moravcsik, Max Rodewald, Adam Hansen, David Hua and Jonathan Crichton. Paul Murray led Princeton Dental Group with 18 points.
In the semifinals, Mayflower Cleaners topped Corner House, 34-32, as Braverman and Kevin Quinn each scored 11 points. Hawes added nine in the win, while Alex Deutsch had 11 and Peter Mahotiere added 10 for Corner House. Murray scored 18 points, Will McGuirk had 10 and Robert Quinn added eight as Princeton Dental Group topped SportsMedicine of Princeton, 42-23. Jeff Gleason had seven points in the loss.
In the championship game of the 4th/5th Grade Girls Division, Princeton Youth Sports topped Vincent Baldino & Brothers, 22-8, as Devon Lis scored eight points and Rocio Soto added six. Anna Wood had four points and Kendall Lieberman added two. Other team members were Kathryn Frawley, Madeline Trumpowsky, Amelia Wright, Salma Hashem, Elizabeth Forrey and Johanna Hines. Vanya Tandon had six points in the loss.
In the semifinals, Lis had 16 points to lead PYS in a 22-18 win over Princeton Shopping Center. Katie Woolfolk had eight points and Catherine Dyevich added five in the loss. Tandon, Elena Kosten and Sydney Parker had four points each as Vincent Baldino & Brothers topped Mason, Griffin & Pierson, 12-10. Samantha Taylor had four points in the loss.
In the championship game of the 6th-9th Grade Girls Division, McCaffrey’s topped Princeton Township PBA #387, 22-19, as Alexandra Patel led the scoring with 10 points. Kirsty Kerr and Bea Greenberg had four points apiece, while Annie Walker and Julia Reid added two points each. Other team members were Daphne Kontogiorgas, Emily Kleinbart, Abigail Emison and Maddie Norman. For McCaffrey’s, Yael Yonah, Zoe Resnick, Ines Arroyo and Noa Levy had four points each, while Sarah Eisenach added three.
