On April 27, Hopewell Township registered voters will pick three Hopewell Valley Regional Board of Education members who will serve full three-year terms.
When the 4 p.m. filing deadline came Tuesday, five township residents had submitted their nominating petitions, creating a situation in which two incumbents are facing three newcomers.
The candidates are: incumbent Laura Desai, of 475 Federal City Road; incumbent Roy Dollard, of 74 Elm Ridge Road; Adam J. Sawicki Jr., of 33 Caroline Drive, Princeton (Hopewell Township); Burton J. Sutker, of 55 Lexington Drive; and Jill Vaughn, of 286 Pennington-Lawrenceville Road.
Incumbent Judy Lindenberger did not file and is not seeking re-election.
Of the nine seats on the regional board, seven are Hopewell Township’s.
The remaining two seats belong to Hopewell Borough and Pennington. These are not involved in this year’s election.
