Five area wrestlers competed in the Tournament of Champions in Atlantic City this past weekend.
Northern Burlington sent three wrestlers to the TOC, with Harley Palyok at 152 pounds opening with an 8-3 win over Dan Brockerhoff of Phillipsburg before falling in the next round. Greyhound heavyweight Cody Melton opened with a 3-1 win over Beniah Harrigan of Piscataway before falling in the next round. At 140 pounds, Northern Burlington’s Wayne Stinson had a bye before dropping his first match.
Bordentown’s Matt Bauer advanced to the second round at 215 pounds with a decision win over David Heitman of Mahwah. At 152 pounds, Khalid Shakir dropped his opening match after getting a first-round bye.
