Somerset County homeowners and farmers can drop off hazardous waste on Saturday, March 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bernards Township Public Works Garage, 277 S. Maple Ave., Basking Ridge.
No registration is necessary, but proof of residency is required. The program is free to county residents.
No tires or electronics will be accepted this day.
Household hazardous waste drop-off days will be held at different locations on April 30, June 18, Aug. 6, Sept. 17 and Oct. 22.
At the October drop-off, 402 residents and one school disposed of about 33,110 pounds of potentially hazardous materials. Among the materials collected for proper disposal were 55 barbeque propane tanks, 330 gallons of used motor oil, 55 gallons of antifreeze and 62 wet-cell batteries.
