PEAC will present its fourth annual "Runway to Runway" to benefit the Mercer County Chapter of the Sunshine Foundation’s Dreamlift.
This year’s event will be on March 2 from 6-9:30 p.m.
The evening includes entertainment, wine tasting, silent auction, food, refreshments, and "Adopt-a-Seat."
Together with the community, PEAC has collectively raised more than $75,000 since 2008 to benefit Dreamlift. The goal for 2011 is to exceed $100,000.
Kicking off the talent showcase this year will be The Rising Stars from Bordentown, performing a "Jersey Boys" medley. The Marvelettes, and other solo artists, dancers, and a percussion ensemble from Allentown High School are sure to get everyone on their feet.
The grand finale will feature Prince impersonator Frank Moore and Cher impersonator Steven Andrade. With Mr. Andrade’s Bob Mackie costume replicas and unmistakable characteristics, you will believe it is really Cher! He has entertained millions of people around the world as Cher and Celine Dion on TV shows, and in casinos, corporate events, and nightclubs.
Authors David A. Hart and John P. Calu will be on hand from Plexus Publishing to autograph copies of "Trenton, A Novel." The book is in its second printing. Plexus Publishing has offered to donate a portion of their proceeds for the night’s sales to The Sunshine Foundation.
All proceeds raised from the event will benefit the Dreamlift, providing a dream-filled day of fun and rays of sunshine at Disney World in Orlando, Fla. Sponsored by the Sunshine Foundation, Dreamlift is an event bringing joy into the lives of children who have faced incredible challenges. "Sunshine’s mission is to answer the dreams of seriously ill, physically challenged and underprivileged children and we feel fortunate to contribute to such a worthy cause," said Laurel Reid, chairwoman of Runway to Runway at PEAC.
Tickets are $25 per person or two for $40. Space is limited. Call PEAC to reserve a seat, 883-2000.
