Casey M. Ward, 18, of Roosevelt, and two juveniles – a 17-year-old girl from Roosevelt and a 17-year-old boy from East Windsor – were charged Saturday with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and underage possession of alcohol. Ms. Ward also was charged with obstructed view.
A patrol officer stopped a vehicle on Disbrow Hill Road about 2:35 p.m. for having an obstructed view, police said. While speaking with the driver, Ms. Ward, the officer smelled the odor of burnt marijuana inside the vehicle, police said. During the investigation, marijuana and a grinder used to process marijuana were found in the car, as well as beer, police said.
Ms. Ward and the two juvenile passengers were arrested. Ms. Ward was later released pending court action and the juveniles were turned over to parents pending court action.
A 16-year-old juvenile was charged Sunday with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A patrol officer saw a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign on Benington Drive at Lake Drive about 11:50 a.m., police said. The vehicle was stopped on Route 133 as it turned off Route 33. The officer smelled marijuana when he approached the vehicle, police said. During the investigation, marijuana was found inside the vehicle, and the juvenile female passenger admitted ownership, police said.
The girl was arrested and later turned over to her parent pending court action. The driver was issued a summons for his violation – failure to stop – and released from the scene, police said.
Tremain Corbett, 36, of Paterson, was charged Monday with obstructing justice, hindering apprehension, driving while suspended, improper display of plates and unlicensed driver.
About 10:45 a.m., a patrol officer saw a vehicle traveling north on Route 130 without a front license plate, police said. The vehicle was stopped and the driver provided the officer with false personal information, police said. Investigation revealed the driver’s true identity and the fact that he, Mr. Corbett, had several arrest warrants from Paterson, as well as a suspended driver’s license, police said.
Mr. Corbett was arrested for obstructing justice and later turned over to Paterson police on the Paterson warrant, police said.
Kevin D. Davis, 21, of Plainsboro, was charged March 3 with possession of marijuana under 50 grams.
About 4:30 p.m., a patrol officer stopped a vehicle he saw turning into The Orchard complex from One Mile Road with a brake light out, police said. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer detected the odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle, police said. Investigation revealed the male passenger in the vehicle, Mr. Davis, was in possession of marijuana, police said.
Mr. Davis was arrested and later released pending court action. The juvenile female driver was issued a summons for the non-functioning light and released at the scene, police said.
Hightstown
Representatives of the Peddie School reported a lost or stolen laptop computer valued at $700 on March 4. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the laptop computer is asked to contact Hightstown police.
Jorge R. Guaman-Sanchez, 25, of Twin Rivers Drive North, East Windsor, was charged Saturday with disorderly conduct.
Officers responded to the Westerlea Arms Apartments’ parking lot at 5:35 a.m. on a report of an unconscious male. Upon arriving officers saw a man who was highly intoxicated, later identified as Mr. Guaman-Sanchez, sleeping within a parking space in the lot, police said. Mr. Guaman-Sanchez had multiple abrasions on his face from falling as a result of his intoxicated state, police said, and was transported to the University Medical Center at Princeton by emergency medical services for his injuries and highly intoxicated state.
Mr. Guaman-Sanchez was charged with disorderly conduct and was issued a summons complaint with pending court action.
John Troulis, 46, of Somerset, was arrested Sunday on North Main Street and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated within a school zone, reckless driving and speeding.
While on patrol about 1:50 a.m., an officer saw Mr. Troulis’ vehicle traveling 37 mph in a 25 mph speed zone, police said. Upon stopping Mr. Troulis for the infraction, the officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, police said.
Mr. Troulis was given field sobriety tests, which he failed, police said. At headquarters, Mr. Troulis submitted breath samples resulting in a reading of 0.17 percent blood alcohol content, more than twice the legal limit, police said.
He was later released to a friend with pending court action.
Someone reported Monday that the inspection sticker was stolen from their vehicle on the 100 block of Monmouth Street between Feb. 24 and March 3. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Hightstown police.
Michele Brigante, 30, of Morris Plains, was arrested Tuesday on Franklin Street and charged with contempt of court.
After a random license plate inquiry performed by a patrol officer, Ms. Brigante was found to have an active warrant in the amount of $150 issued by Florham Park Municipal Court, police said. The vehicle was stopped by the officer, who confirmed the identity of the driver and the warrant, police said.
Ms. Brigante was taken into custody and was later released after posting bail.
