There will be contests in two of the three school districts in The Cranbury Press coverage area.
Five candidates will by vying for three three-year terms n the Cranbury Board of Education.
Incumbents Jennifer Cooke, Kevin Fox and Evelyn Spann are being opposed by Pramod Chivate and Ashutosh “Ash” Hadap. Neither Mr. Chivate nor Mr. Hadap have been on the board before.
In Monroe, there are four candidates for the three three-year terms. The three incumbents filed — Ken Chiarella, Kathy Kolupanowich and Kathy Leonard — as did Amy Antelis, a former member of the board.
There will be a second question on the ballot regarding full-day kindergarten, but officials said the wording still is being worked out.
There will be no contest in Jamesburg. Incumbents Salvatore Brucato and Linda Newton filed for re-election. They are joined by William Maresca and are unopposed for the three three-year terms available.
Incumbent Donald Peterson decided not to run again.
The election is April 27.
