Purim is around the corner. Services will be held Saturday, March 19, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, March 20, at 9 a.m. followed by a Purim Seudah. Meanwhile, the Purim Carnival is this Sunday, the 13th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
There’s gold in them there hills … or maybe it’s what’s in your home. Experts from the Gold Leaf Group will be at the synagogue this Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to test, weigh and pay you for your gold, silver and platinum.
Marcia Finkelstein will be honored this Sunday night, the 13th, at 7 p.m. for her service to the synagogue, Sisterhood and Torah Fund. Dalia Bernstein, a student at the Jewish Theological Seminary, will be the special guest.
"Jewish Humor and the Movies" is the latest offering from the Werner Lecture Fund. Synagogue member and standup comedian Rafi Regeur will use humor to discuss the Marx Brothers’ "A Day at the Races" on Sunday March 20, and Woody Allen’s "Annie Hall" on Sunday, April 3. Time for the laughs each of those days is 3 p.m.
The Women’s Shabbat will be held on Saturday, March 19.
Beth El will hold a blood drive Sunday, March 27, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Call the synagogue for an appointment.
