Hillsborough’s public library offers diverse activities for young and old.
Here are upcoming programs intended for adults:
Parent/teacher workshop Strategies and materials that child-care workers, educators and parents can use to help kids navigate the rough terrain of childhood social relationships. Monday, March 21, at 7 p.m.
Ladies ESL Conversation Group Monday, March 21, at 7 p.m.
Afternoon Movie ‘Morning Glory,’ Tuesday, March 22, at 1:30 p.m.
Crystal/Gemstone healing workshop Hear briefly about crystal healing, as well as different stones and their properties. Tuesday, March 29, at 7 p.m.
Rediscovery and inspiration on the Lewis and Clark Trail Gordon Thomas Ward, the author of “Life on the Shoulder,” discusses his inspiring journey along the Lewis and Clark Trail. Thursday, March 31, at 7 p.m.
Evening movie “The Fighter,” with Mark Wahlberg, Amy Adams and Christian Bale. Friday, April 1, at 7 p.m.
Poetry Set to Music Join us in the West Wing for a lyrical rendition of the poetry of Edna St. Vincent Millay set to music by Liz Quler and Seth Farber. You’ll be delighted by the creative and enlightening performance. Saturday, April 2, at 7 p.m.
Here are programs targeted at youngsters. Registration is required for all programs.:
Afternoon Stories (ages 2-6) A fun family storytime. Mondays, March 21 and 28, at 1 p.m.
Reading Buddy (grades 2-4) Your child will increase their love of reading while reading aloud with our Hillsborough High School intern. Mondays, March 21 and 28, 3:30 p.m.
Toddler Time (ages 2-6) Introduce the pleasure of books to your child. Tuesdays, March 22 and 29, at 10 a.m.
Rhyme Time (newborn to 2½) Join us for nursery rhyme fun. Tuesdays, March 22 and 29, at 10:30 a.m.
Math (ages 4-6) Stop by for some stories and activities that will get math brains working. Thursday, March 24, at 10 a.m.
Anime Club (grades 8-12) Hang out with your friends as we watch anime, make candy sushi and discuss the latest manga. Thursday, March 24, at 5 p.m.
Singing Babies (newborn to 2) Start your little one on the road to a lifetime love of music making. Friday, March 25, at 10 a.m.
Game On! Grades 6-12 We’ll be creating larger-than-life board games and you get to act as your own game piece. Monday, March 28, at 4 p.m.
Early Reader Book Club (grades K-2) We will discuss the book, do some activities and make a craft. Tuesday, March 29, at 4 p.m.
Crafts for 4s, 5s and 6s Have fun making a craft with your preschool or kindergarten child. Thursday, March 31, at 10 a.m.
Singing Babies (ages to 2) Start your little one on the road to a lifetime love of music making. Friday, April 1, at 10 a.m.
Special Storytime (ages 2-6) Join us for a special storytime. Saturday, April 2, at 10 a.m.
